Recipes for kids Some healthy snacks for kids. Jacqueline La Hood, 26 November 2000 MINI PIZZA'SYou can prepare these using English muffins. Simply top them with ham, pineapple and cheese and put under the grill for a minute or so. Any favourite toppings are delicious and easy. NACHOSStart with a plate of corn chips. Top with mild tomato salsa, refried beans(if the kids like them), and grated cheese. Pop either in the microwave oven for a minute or under the grill. You can even include some mashed avocado. MINI QUICHESLine a patty cake tin with puff pastry rounds.(just thaw a sheet of puff pastry and cut rounds with the top of a glass). Press these gently in the mounds. Divide 1 diced onion, 1-2 bacon rashers diced, and 1/2 a cup of grated cheese between the patty tins. Combine 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of milk and a bit of salt. Beat with a fork. Pour the egg mixture carefully into the pastry cases. Bake in hot oven(230c, 450F) 15-20 minutes or until golden and puffed. Copyright © Oatlands Family Practice.
